I always think that anchoring a poem – or indeed a feeling – in something concrete and/or everyday really brings home bigger or broader ideas; as well of course as your gorgeous use of imagery.

This poem beautifully captures the duality of love—both its creation and its inevitable undoing. The imagery of fire and ash, destruction and rebirth, is hauntingly powerful. There's a raw honesty in embracing love's glorious downfall, and yet, an undercurrent of hope in the promise of renewal. A stunning, evocative piece!
